Getting started with markets.com

As a group of companies, markets.com has regulated entities in several jurisdictions, specifically Europe (Cyprus), the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines and BVI.

Each of our entities is regulated by the relevant authority in its jurisdiction.

The grace period refers to how long some clients can deposit and trade without the necessary documents required for account verification. However, not all clients are eligible for it.

Our regulations

We are regulated under companies:

  1. Safecap Investments Ltd. - regulated under CySEC (Cypriot regulator)*
  2. Markets South Africa Pty Ltd.- regulated under FSCA (South African regulator)
  3. Markets International Ltd. - is registered in the Saint Vincent and The Grenadines (“SVG”)

Grace period for eligible clients

The grace period is only offered for clients in these markets:

  • Europe (Cyprus) - Safecap Investments Ltd., regulated by CySEC
  • Global - Finalto BVI Ltd., regulated by FSC

How long is the grace period

Depending on your country of residence, you may fall under either category.

Note that:

  • Eligible clients under the BVI regulation will have a grace period of 28 days.

One of the benefits of trading with a regulated company is that you know you are contracting with a reliable and reputable provider in a secure environment, which has strict rules and guidelines in place, protecting the interests of retail clients. Other legal obligations of a regulated company include, but are not limited to, ensuring financial services are provided efficiently, honestly and fairly, dealing with retail client money in a certain way and having dispute resolutions systems in place in case you are unsatisfied with our services.

However, please note that regulation is not an absolute guarantee of security or reliability. Additionally, being regulated does not change that trading in CFDs and Margin FX products carries a high degree of risk, and you may lose some or all of your invested capital.
